finally a movie worth my $8..

have you ever seen a movie or read a book that just makes your heart flutter? you know the feeling I'm talking about; the constant heart-pounding, anxious-excited feeling you have because this movie portrays life and love the way it was meant to be. maybe it's cheesy, maybe it seems impossible, maybe it's unrealistic. well friends, I saw this movie last night. I knew when I cried through the preview months ago it would be a winner; one of those feel-good, watch-all-the-time, you-want-to-change-your-life movie. I was right. the said movie is of course the blind side. [click to see the trailer] easily my new favorite movie. it's based on the true story of lawrence taylor and his rise to fame in football. but its SO much more than that. this movie so perfectly captures the beauty and joy of giving to someone in need; whether it's in a big or small way. it is the essence of the call of Christ literally,

"For when I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
The the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"
-Matthew 25:35-40

now I'm no movie fanatic, but this was a true inspiration. I was so encouraged not just to finally see a movie worth my time, but one that truly displayed a valuable lesson [many in fact]. it was a challenge to live out exactly what you believe; to step out in faith, with the boldness of Christ and love someone. they may not become a player in the NFL, but there's no telling what God can do when we are obedient and love others as they truly are our brothers and sisters in Christ. I want Kingdom eyes.
