"those who can't do teach....?"

today was my first day of student teaching! YAY!! I feel like I have been waiting for this forever and it is finally here! it was great, but different than what I expected. I'm at southern middle with 8th grade language arts :) {my favorite subject} today my cooperating teacher and I had to grade open-response questions and on-demand writings all day long in the library! it was fun because I got to bond with my super awesome teacher and meet the principal and a lot of other great teachers that I'll be working with. I can't wait to get into my daily routine in the classroom, and build relationships with the students. how exciting! and I will keep you updated on the fun happenings in my life as "Ms. N" {apparently my last name is too hard to pronounce, but its understandable}.

here is a list of exciting things that I love about teaching:
- dressing up in big kid clothes! {turns out it's quite fun when you actually have a wardrobe that includes more than jeans and t-shirts}
- using my cute vera bradley teacher lunchbox
- meeting and building relationships with my students
- intercepting notes during class! {yes, it's hilarious!}
- writing on the board... yes, it's official: I'm a nerd.
- it's cliche but true, making a connection with a student and helping to make a difference in their life and future.
- seeing a student realize they can __________.

gosh I can't wait to have my very own classroom! until then, I'll share my teachable moments, and funny stories with you blogger friends :)
