lizzie spent tuesday evening/night baking our lovely houses from scratch. she found a simple recipe online and created the houses. one thing to keep in mind is that you have to measure each side and bake them one by one, so when planning out the house it's important to remember that the sides have to measure properly in order for the house to stand. sounds simple enough, right? here's a shot of little lizzie with the houses before we built them:
rather than re-telling the events of the night, I'll let the following pictures do the talking:
all of the sweets and treats we planned to decorate with!
cheery and bright with high hopes of winter lakes and fences in our yards...
the first problem arises..lizzie can't put icing in a bag properly. house assembly failure part 1
"this is a learning experience" -lizzie's quote of the night
we spent at least an hour trying to get these babies to stand... and they did... momentarily
disaster strikes again...
what was at first pretty and clean is now destroyed and well, a mess
sarah's dreams of a winter cottage...
war paint or icing? you decide
the finished product!! I'd call that a success and worth the effort.
now, on to the next topic... when did I get old? my best friend and roommate shannon and I are going apartment hopping next tuesday and I can't believe we'll be moving out of our beloved 312! as sad as it is, I am also anxious and excited to live in an apartment that will have carpet that I won't be afraid to sit on! yay! :) I don't want to think about this any longer because it makes me feel sad too. so, moving on! [pardon the pun]
one last thought before I return to my silly homework: I LOVE FRIENDS. yes, my real-life, crazy awesome, make-you-laugh-until-you-cry-friends, but also the show "friends". it's impossible for me to watch 3 minutes without laughing hysterically. my roommate katie is what I would call a "friends" expert. she could quote lines to you, give you a synopsis of any given episode or season, and relates many life situations to the show on a daily basis. now I'm not a huge fan of tv and don't particularly love it but I am always game for a "friends" episode. there's no denying my love for ross, rachel, phoebe, chandler, joey, and monica. don't ask me to pick a favorite because I can't! [but maybe ross..? or phoebe.. ? or chandler.. ? shoot, I don't know]. so if you're in need of a good laugh, pop in a "friends" dvd and choose an episode at random. I promise you won't be disappointed.
that's all for now. hopefully I'll get better at this whole blogging thing and can stick to one topic per post. maybe. maybe not.
The fact that you don't stick to one topic keeps readers on their toes. Keep it up, champ :)
ReplyDeletewell thank you love :) in that case I will keep it up!
